Your Child Needs Braces

Do you need braces in Newmarket? At All Smiles Dental Newmarket braces are offered to patients both for beauty and function. Our Newmarket dentist, Dr. Nada Albatish, has been providing her patients with amazing results and has helped so many Newmarket braces patients with their orthodontic needs. In some cases dental braces are used to correct a patient’s bite. Our Newmarket braces patients have enjoyed having their braces done along with addressing all other dental needs with the Newmarket dentists that they trust at All Smiles Dental without having to go to a different dental office.

Orthodontic problems like overbites and underbites are common in childhood, in all too many cases being consequences of bad habits. (I know this fact quite well myself: I have an overbite because I sucked my thumb until I was twelve!) Orthodontic bands, or braces as they are commonly referred to, are often prescribed to correct these defects, but they can be quite painful, although the wearer can get used to them after a while.

Fortunately there is now no longer any need to get used to something that can hurt so much. Engineers with knowledge of the human body have come up with a new sort of orthodontic bands called Invisalign braces, designed to fit comfortably on children, teens and adults.

Introduction to the company

Invisalign braces are custom made by the business of that name to fit the mouth of each patient. The primary source of pain caused by conventional braces is the metal bands embedded in the gums and the wires used to tighten or loosen them. The metal and wires are more than just painful; they can irritate the gums and cause gingivitis.

Instead, Invasalign braces consist of a pair of alignment trays made from an invisible plastic that will, over a period of time determined by the orthodontist, gradually shift the teeth into the desired position. Every two weeks, these alignment trays are changed. The truly wonderful thing about having Invisalign braces is that you have no idea that you are even wearing them at all! You can still smile the way that you normally would; no one else can tell you have those Invisalign braces in your mouth either. You can even take them off when you eat or when you clean your teeth! The results will also be achieved sooner than they would be had you chosen to wear conventional braces. These braces are effective no matter what your age.

How to get Invisalign braces

If you wish to have your child wear Invisalign braces, the first step to take is to find out if there is an Invisalign provider in your area. You might want to speak to a number of different orthodontists before you make the final decision which is the best. In order to reach that decision, talk to each provider about the costs of Invisalign braces and what specific items are and are not covered by a given dental insurance policy.

The first thing that the orthodontist will do, once you have chosen yours, is to take an X ray of your teeth and send it to Invisalign to create a three-dimensional image with which he or she can work. He will use the diagram to make a plan as to how exactly the teeth should move to achieve the desired outcome. The next step is to construct a set of braces for the purpose. You should keep them in your mouth for 20 to 22 hours per day.
